Terms of Service
Last updated: August 1, 2026
These terms explain the rules for using Opinta. We have tried to keep them short and readable. If something here is unclear, email us at support@opinta.io and we will explain it in plain language.
By creating an account or using Opinta, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Opinta is operated by:
Oiviar Oy
Business ID: 3118574-9
Juustenintie 2 B 46
00410 Helsinki, Finland
Email: support@opinta.io
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Opinta” mean the company above. “You” means you, the person using the service.
2. Who can use Opinta
You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they are responsible for your use of the service and any payments.
You can only have one account, and you should not share your login with anyone else.
3. What Opinta is, and what it is not
Opinta teaches practical skills around sleep, focus, productivity and wellbeing, and gives you tools to put what you learn into practice.
Opinta is educational. It is not medical or psychological care. Our lessons, exercises and recommendations are general information, not personal advice about your health. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for talking to a doctor, therapist, or other qualified professional. Any tracking features are there to help you notice your own patterns. They are not diagnostic tools, and we do not assess or interpret your health.
If you have a health condition, are taking medication, or are worried about your sleep or mental health, please talk to a healthcare professional before changing anything based on what you read here. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
You decide what to do with what you learn, and you are responsible for those decisions.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@opinta.io if you think someone else has access to it.
Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so we can reach you about your subscription.
5. Free and Pro plans
Opinta has a free plan and a paid plan called Pro.
The free plan gives you our lessons and a limited set of tools. Pro unlocks the rest. What each plan includes is set out on our pricing page, and we may adjust it over time as the product develops. If we remove something meaningful from the plan you are paying for, we will tell you first, and you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of your term.
We can change or update the free plan without individual notice.
6. Prices, payment and renewal
Current prices are shown on our pricing page. All prices shown to consumers include VAT.
Billing. Pro is billed in advance, either monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. For yearly plans, we email you a reminder around 30 days before renewal, so a charge never comes as a surprise.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings, in a few clicks and without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not charge a cancellation fee.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. If it keeps failing, your account moves to the free plan. Your data stays where it is.
7. Price changes
We can change our prices. If a change affects your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. The new price applies from your next renewal, so you always have time to cancel first. If you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before the renewal date and you will not be charged.
8. Your right to withdraw within 14 days
As a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason. This right applies even if you have already started using Opinta.
To use it, email us at support@opinta.io within 14 days and tell us you are withdrawing. A plain email is enough. If you prefer, you can use the standard model withdrawal form, which is at the end of these terms. We will refund your payment within 14 days of receiving your message, to the same payment method you used.
We refund in full. The law would let us keep a proportionate amount for the days you used the service. We do not do that. If you withdraw within 14 days, you get everything back.
This right applies to your first payment on a new subscription, not to automatic renewals of a subscription you have already had.
Outside the 14 days: we do not automatically refund the rest of a billing period. But if something has gone wrong, or Opinta is not what you expected, tell us. We would rather sort it out than have you feel stuck with a subscription you are not using.
9. Your content and your data
Everything you create in Opinta belongs to you: your tasks, habits, notes, reflections and progress.
You give us permission to store, process and display that content, but only so we can run the service for you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. If your content is ever used to improve Opinta in aggregate form, it will be anonymised so it cannot be traced back to you.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, at any time by emailing support@opinta.io. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, which explains in detail what we collect and why.
10. Our content
The lessons, exercises, text, design, software and everything else that makes up Opinta belongs to us or our licensors, and is protected by copyright.
You may use our content for your own personal learning. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link back. You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute our lessons, or use them to build a competing product. You may not scrape the service or use automated tools to bulk-download content.
Our lessons are publicly readable on purpose. That is an invitation to read and learn, not a licence to republish.
11. Fair use of the service
Please do not:
- try to break into or disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it beyond what the law specifically permits
- use Opinta to do anything illegal, or to harass or harm anyone
- upload malware, or content that infringes someone else’s rights
- resell or share your access with other people
- put load on our systems that goes far beyond normal personal use
If you do any of this, we may suspend or close your account.
12. Availability and changes
We work to keep Opinta running reliably, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to take it offline for maintenance, and we will give notice when we can.
Opinta is an evolving product. We add, change and occasionally remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you get on a paid plan, section 5 applies.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Opinta at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@opinta.io.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use puts the service or other users at risk. Unless the reason is serious or urgent, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
If we ever shut down Opinta entirely, we will give you at least 60 days’ notice, refund the unused part of any paid subscription, and give you time to export your data.
14. Our responsibility
We provide Opinta with reasonable care and skill, and we stand behind it. But there are limits to what we can be responsible for.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income, lost data caused by something outside our control, or outcomes that did not go the way you hoped. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose, or 50 euros.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Finnish law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights always apply and these terms do not take them away.
15. If something is broken
If Opinta is not working as it should, tell us and we will fix it.
As an EU consumer you have rights here that these terms cannot take away. If the service does not do what it is supposed to, you can ask us to put it right. If we cannot, or do not do it within a reasonable time, you can ask for a reduction in what you pay, or end your subscription and get a refund for what you have not used.
In practice, emailing us at support@opinta.io is how any of this starts, and usually where it ends.
16. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. It is part of the deal between us, so please read it.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms where there is a good reason to, such as a change to the service, a change in the law, or a new feature that needs covering. We will not change them arbitrarily. If a change matters to you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect and show what changed. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect and we will refund the unused part of any paid term.
Small corrections, like fixing a typo or updating our address, take effect immediately.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protections of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@opinta.io. We would much rather fix it directly.
If we cannot resolve it together, you can take the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi), after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service (kuluttajaneuvonta.fi). You can also bring a case in the courts of your own country of residence.
19. Other bits
If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
These terms and our Privacy Policy set out the agreement between us about your use of Opinta. They do not affect anything we have told you directly, or any rights you have under consumer law.
We may transfer these terms to another company if Opinta is sold or reorganised. Your rights stay the same, and we will tell you if it happens.
20. Contact

Appendix: model withdrawal form
You only need this if you want it. An email saying you are withdrawing works just as well.
